Oak Park here we come!

Welcome to the Kellerowski Blog. :) I've set this up so Tom and I can post as we go through this process of buying our first condo in Oak Park. Please feel free to leave comments, especially those that involve tips for first time home buyers.

Good news everyone! Mine and Tom's condo search has come to an end. We have officially decided that we will be purchasing the condo in Oak Park that we LOVE. We did though decide last night on a different unit (this one has a different floor plan, but actually has more square footage, a better kitchen layout and is cheaper than the first unit we chose).

While I would LOVE to post pictures on here of what the unit looks like, I can't really do that b/c the builders haven't started the renovation yet. I will however post pictures of the other 1 bedroom model so you can get an IDEA of what the building will be like (in terms of style).

This first picture is just what the outside of the building looks like (yes, it's a drawing, but the building does look exactly like that.)

Next is a photo of the living room. Ours will basically be just like this except we don't have the bay window, we just have the three large windows on a flat wall. And we won't have the same paint colors -- but the detail around the windows, crown molding, etc will be the same.

This is the bedroom, ours is pretty much the same. It's pretty standard.

Now the Den/Dining Room and Kitchens are where our unit is mostly different. Our kitchen will be seperate from the Den/Dining Room and is much bigger.

We will be signing the papers this week and since it is a new conversion we obviously have to wait for the contstruction to begin and end before we do our closing. We are giving the builders 90 days -- so we'll move at the beginning of November. :) Let the count down begin! Now everyone better not say they'll come visit and then never actually do it. Oak Park is a great place to live/hang out. There are plenty of great bars/restuarants/shopping. And in good traffic it takes 30-40 minutes tops. :)
