Furniture Shopping

This weekend we decided since we hadn't done much (of anything condo related or in general) that we would go out to Ikea to scope out all of the stuff I had picked out of the catalog. I can't stress how great it is to have 3 months to plan for the move! We definetly have a style (the modern-vintage combo) for the living room, but we wanted to go actually see all the furniture we had picked out because sometimes things just aren't the same in person.

So we are pretty much set on all the bedroom and dining room items we picked out. We also loved the tv stand/coffee table combo. We did however find some new shelving options that are great (I'm so excited to see this all put together). We also did decide that we didn't love the couch I had originally picked out (the type 0f sofa-bed it was was really just not that great). We then found another sofa we liked; but we really couldn't find any chairs we liked to go with. So we didn't buy anything at Ikea (b/c we still have 3 months) but we came away with a good idea of what we definetly want and what we still need to find.

On the way home we passed a Harlem Roomplace, so we decided to stop in and we fell in love with a sofa-sleeper & loveseat set! It is that microfiber material that is super soft (and I've heard it's easy to take care of) and it's the right color and totally the right price. So we're pretty much set there, now.

We did make some stops at Home Depot, Office Max and Target but found NOTHING -- we were looking for a new (bigger) white desk and a rug. But later that night I did find some great rugs & throw pillows on the Target website.

All in all it was a great trip and I can definetly get a sense of how the room is going to come together. Also I found this GREAT room planning tool on HGTV, I added the link to the side bar on the right.

Until next time...!!!
